Excerpt from ricelakewis.com: This Japanese Friendship Garden is located on the University of Wisconsin’s Barron County Campus. This garden, designed by a master gardener from Miharu, Japan is a symbol of the relationship between Rice Lake, Wisconsin and Miharu Japan.
Garden Features:
Enter the garden and follow the stepping stones to a meditation bench where you will see a vision of a miniature mountain range and illusion of a waterfall flowing into a pond. Upon entering the gate visitors follow stepping stones to the meditation bench where, while seated at the bench a vision of a miniature mountain range with the illusion of a waterfall flowing into a pond can be seen.
Garden History:
Built in 1988 by the Rice Lake International Friendship Association as a symbol of sister city relationship with Miharu, Japan, an ongoing student adult exchange program that began in 1987.
