ABQ BioPark Sasebo Japanese Garden (Albuquerque, New Mexico): Hand- crafted light sculptures depicting everything from dinosaurs, mythical creatures, safari animals, and ocean life, with festive evergreen displays accenting the scenes throughout the Botanic Garden. Our Japanese garden features oversized, light-up panels of Katsushika Hokusai’s winter scenes. Day exhibits include a winter flower show showcasing evergreen arrangements, poinsettia and tropical displays in the conservatories, and Kadomatsu arrangements at the gates of our Japanese Garden.
Anderson Japanese Gardens: Now through December 23rd you can visit Anderson Japanese Gardens and enjoy our Winter Lightscapes. A large portion of the Garden is decorated with trees wrapped in white string lights and pine trees lit with soft-colored accents. This is the first time Anderson Gardens is open to the public during the winter.
Brooklyn Botanic Garden: Visitors to Lightscape make their way along a winding trail through Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s landscape, awash in artistic lighting design.
Lili’uokalani Gardens (Hilo, HI) Thursday, Friday, and Saturday December 23, 24, 25 from 6-9 p.m. lights will go on in several locations in the 20+ acre gardens. Should we have another pandemic surge, displays will be visible by driving around the edges of the park.
Descanso Gardens (La Canada Flintridge, CA): Enchanted Forest of Light is an interactive, nighttime experience unlike anything else in Los Angeles, featuring a one-mile walk through unique lighting experiences in some of the most beloved areas of Descanso Gardens.
New this year will be an entire town of magical stained glass creations built in the Rose Garden by contemporary sculptor Tom Fruin. Popular returning favorites returning include sparkling, swirling installations from HYBYCOZO on the Main Lawn, Flower Power on the Promenade, and exquisite lighting effects in the Ancient Forest.
Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden (Lethbridge, Alberta): Leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind as you Experience the Friendship at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden’s annual Winter Light Festival! Bundle up and take in our massive light display, ice sculptures, and other surprises throughout the garden! Learn about Japanese customs and traditions that they celebrate during the winter months.
