Fort Worth Regional

Friday, February 25th- Sunday, February 27th
(with single day registration options)

NAJGA and FWBG are excited to partner on a Regional Workshop
that will have many hands-on learning opportunities.

The first two days of the Regional Workshop (2/25-2/26) will be held at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden in the Japanese garden. These two days will focus on re-imaging a distant view of the main waterfall inside FWBG’s Japanese garden with an underlying theme of repurposing existing and stored material from the garden.

Participants will assist with tasks such as stone arrangement and installation, balling and burlapping of trees, pruning of trees and shrubs, bamboo access block construction, stone paving and planting. Participants will use hand tools, assist with the use of a tripod and use ladders to complete tasks.  All tasks will be held concurrently.

For those who want more hands-on experience, the Regional Workshop will include a 3rd day (2/27) in the Grand Prairie area in the private garden of Don & Akiko Meiners. Day 3 will include a small wara juraku workshop/demonstration and a tour of the Meiner’s garden.

Travel arrangements to both FWBG and Don & Akiko’s home are to be made by participants, however, NAJGA will assist in coordinating carpools for those who are interested.
